Trouble Brewing: Another Show off Between the Supreme Court of Pakistan and the PPP is on the Card

The trouble is brewing.Another show off between the Supreme Court of Pakistan and the ruling PPP is on the card.Still the Supreme court of Pakistan is in a mood to renew its demand to the present Prime Minister of Pakistan to reopen the case with Swiss Government against the President of Pakistan as to his alleged deposit of $ 15 million in the Swiss bank. However, the new Pakistan Prime Minister, a loyal member of the PPP is not rushing up things and repeatedly saying that he will always follow what his political party PPP decides in this regard. Meanwhile legal experts are actively engaged on the issue.A few experts maintain that after September, 8, 2012, the issue of Swiss bank account cannot be reopened.Besides they also maintain that as per article 248 of the Constitution of Pakistan, the President Asaf Ali Jardari enjoys complete immunity and no criminal action can be initiated against him.A barrister even claims that the US Supreme Court has already declared that the presidents of all countries enjoy complete immunity from any criminal proceedings. He also said that there is no ambiguity in article 248. However, a decision of the Supreme Court of US is binding only in US and it is not universal. However another section of legal experts maintain that there is no any deadline for reopening the Swiss bank case. In such a situation, the Supreme Court of Pakistan may again proceed to demand from the Prime Minister of Pakistan to reopen the Swiss bank case.Considering the loyalty of the present Prime Minister to the PPP, there may be a new stand off between the Supreme Court of Pakistan and the Prime Minister. The whole world is eagerly watching Pakistan.
